On Monday, Sakurai unveiled the latest results for Conquest Mode. Mario beats Mega Man, 59 % to 41 %. The rankings are now reflecting international results, so Nintendo will increase how frequently they update these rankings.
On Tuesday, we got a look at the amiibo activation screen. Once the amiibo has been activated, you will be able to tap your amiibo at the character selection screen on the Gamepad so that the amiibo can join the upcoming fight. The trophy then becomes a Figure Player, who fights and levels up on their own.
On Wednesday, Sakurai shared global release dates for Super Smash Bros for Wii U. You can read our coverage here.
We also got to see the Flying Men on Wednesday, a new stage hazard / potential assist in the Magicant stage. Magicant and the Flying Men come from Mother, the Japanese-only Famicom game from Shigesato Itoi and produced by Miyamoto. Its sequel, Mother 2, was localized and made it to the US as cult favorite Earthbound.
The Flying Men can be recruited by Ninten in the original game, but in Super Smash Bros 3DS, whoever touches them first can recruit them. The Flying Men appear in groups of five, and can accrue damage with their flying cross chops. Every time one dies, a grave abruptly appears.
Yesterday, the Trophy Shop in Super Smash Bros for Wii U was revealed. It is conceptually the same, but the HD graphics and larger screen allows Sakurai and company to make a more realistic looking toy store display.
Finally, today Sakurai shared another pic of the Home Run Contest. He explains that he has been too busy with the Wii U version of the game so he hasn’t had time to play this minigame. He did drop an intriguing hint on this stage. Apparently, Ganondorf has an undiscovered advantage in the Home Run Contest.
Super Smash Bros for Wii U will be released on November 21.
