[Update: Here's some quick clarification on the second wave of amiibo figures. They will launch in December, but the exact day hasn't been decided.]
It's not a rumor any longer! Super Smash Bros. for Wii U will arrive in North America on November 21. Meanwhile, Europe will get to smashing a little bit later on December 5. Even Japan, which got Smash 3DS before everyone else, will have to sit back until December 6 on this one.
Also arriving on November 21 is the first wave of amiibo figures. As we mentioned before, this first set of 12 will include Mario, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Link, Fox, Samus, Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, Pikachu, Kirby, and Marth. Nintendo has also announced a second set featuring Zelda, Diddy Kong, Luigi, Little Mac, Pit, and Captain Falcon, but no launch date for those has been announced yet.
Finally, there's great news on the handheld front: Following a strong weekend launch in the West, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS has hit 2.8 million units sold wordwide. The game was at 1.37 million in just Japan as of last week, which means North American and European launches likely added around 1.5 million, not factoring any additional Japanese sales.
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U will be ready to rock on November 21.
