Some new Legends were announced for NBA 2K15, alongside news of a new Challenges feature, as well as an auction house for MyTeam.
2K Sports confirmed these Legends with this announcement:
· Bernard King
· Rick Berry
· Tom Chambers
· Kevin Johnson
· Bob Cousy
· Nate Archibald
Much like WWE 2K15, there are even more Legends that 2K Sports has yet to announce.
MyTeam has changed up the way it does tournaments, with a new system simply called Challenges. These are single player games which provide ‘What if?’ scenarios to play through. They will add weekly challengers revolving around specific NBA events throughout the year. We will also get ideas from the community for future Challenges.
The Auction House is the solution to players earning duplicate cards in MyTeam. You can put up your players for sale, in an online auction scenario with a set time limit, similar to eBay.
In NBA 2K14, players with duplicate cards could only sell it back to the game. This made the process of acquiring new cards, and new players, prohibitively expensive.
2K Sports was wise not to make this a RMAH, like Blizzard famously attempted with Diablo III. There are two currencies in NBA 2K15: MyTeam Currency and Virtual Currency. The Auction House only uses MyTeam Currency, and this is the Currency that you cannot buy with real money. It seems 2K Sports has designed NBA 2K15 in such a way that you will have to earn that MyTeam Currency in-game.
NBA 2K15 will be released on October 7, on Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
