Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire: Mega Evolutions Rock This Trailer

September 12, 2014 by Tony Ponce

Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre flaunt their power, and recently revealed Mega Evolutions make their video debut.

This past week has been rife with new Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire news. We were introducted to new Mega Evolutions for Camerupt, Sharpedo, and Gallade, and we received confirmation that Pokemon Emerald's Rayquaza is back in action. But reading is one thing, while seeing is another. With that in mind, The Pokemon Company uploaded a fresh trailer showcasing everything we've just learned.

Leading the trailer are Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre, demonstrating their powerful new abilities. Primal Groudon's Desolate Land greatly intensifies sunlight in the area, thus preventing water-based attacks or weather-changing moves from activating. It then follows up with Precipice Blade, which launches rock spires from the ground into its opponent. On the opposite end, Primal Kyogre Primordial Sea intensifies rainfall, thus preventing fire-based attacks as well as weather-changing moves from activating. Afterwards, it launches Origin Pulse, a seemingly beefed-up version of Water Pulse.

Then we get to see Rayquaza on the attack! Of course, the video doesn't disclose whether he has a Primal or Mega form — can't reveal all the secrets until the game is out, I suppose. And finally we are greeted by the recently revealed Mega trio.

Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire will be out on 3DS on November 21.
