Just yesterday, we caught wind that The Great Ace Attorney, the Meiji-era prequel in the Ace Attorney series, will feature none other than London's finest, Sherlock Holmes and Watson. Kotaku was able to get a hold of the Famitsu magazine article that properly reveals the duo and has uploaded choice images right up on the site.
Holmes' appearance is as you'd expect — maybe a little more pretty boyish than in previous incarnations. But the big surprise is Watson, who as we said before is now a young girl named Iris Watson. In her full debut, we learn that despite her age, she is no less capable than her source novel counterpart, having already earned her PhD and written the entire The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes novel series by the tender age of eight! Oh, and she has an adorable swirl of pink hair tied up like a bow.
The Great Ace Attorney is currently set for a Spring 2015 release on 3DS in Japan, with more information to come out of the Tokyo Game Show. No Western release has been announced just yet — I'm guessing it's because the localizers have no idea how to convince players that the game is actually set in turn-of-the-century Los Angeles.
