Cyberpunk 2077 Devs Are Satisfied With Current Performance State

June 28, 2021 by Dennis Patrick

Developers are feeling more satisfied with their latest game release.

For years CD Projekt Red was a game development studio that couldn’t fail in plenty of players eyes. They were building up so much steam and hype after their previous release of The Witcher 3. Fans knew that their next game would be a futuristic RPG and for years we didn’t get any insight about the title. Eventually, the developers finally offered some insight into the game and we eventually got teasers, trailers, streams, interviews, along with breakdowns of gameplay mechanics. This continued to hype up the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 and it had plenty of fans eager to dive into the game as soon as possible.

While we had to endure several delays, we finally got Cyberpunk 2077 into the marketplace back in December of 2020. That had players worldwide logging online to download and install the game ahead of its release to dive right into the gameplay at launch. What most gamers got was a buggy mess that left them feeling underwhelmed, especially for base-model last-generation console platforms. As a result, Sony kicked the game off their digital storefront for several months while Xbox had a no questions ask kind of policy for those that want to return Cyberpunk 2077. Instead of giving up on the game, the development studio vowed to make the game playable for fans.

It took a ton of patches and a series of updates to bring out plenty of fixes and adjustments to the game. While there is still no information about DLC both in the promised format of being free along with paid expansions, the development studio is at least excited to announce that the game is at a satisfying level. This statement comes from CD Projekt Red CEO Adam Kicinski who spoke at the WSE Innovation Day. According to Adam, the team has reached a level they are satisfied with but that doesn’t mean they have done working on the title.

Instead, we can expect more updates and patches released to help finish the game out away from the series of problematic issues. While some fans are eager to see more fixes come out, others finished everything available in the game and are waiting for a reason to return to Night City. It would be nice to know just what the studio has planned, which was something that was actually meant to be revealed before the game even launched into the marketplace.
