Hyrule Warriors: Fresh Photos of Fi and Other New Characters and Items

July 10, 2014 by Tony Ponce

Here come more details regarding Koei Tecmo’s Zelda hack-and-slash.

A big Skyward Sword update has landed onto Hyrule Warriors, including the introduction of the sword spirit Fi as a new playable character. The Japanese Hyrule Warriors website has also been updated with new screens of Fi, the villains Ghirahim and The Imprisoned, and Link and Zelda's new items. It seems that the Ball and Chain isn't the only new tool in Link's aresenal — he has also equipped the Power Gloves, which allow him to swing giant stone pillars and toss enemies with ease.

The Famitsu article that first revealed the new content has been translated further by Nintendo Everything reader gigamario. Bits we've learned include how Zelda can use the Wind Waker to summon tornadoes or turn sound into lightning, that you can't change weapons in battle, that Fi can indeed transform into a sword during combat, and that you can purchase badges using rupees and raw materials from fallen enemies. These badges give your characters certain boosts, like making the "weak spot" gauge fill up faster so that you can deal greater damage.

A proper introduction video for Fi should arrive any day now. Meanwhile, keep holding on for Hyrule Warrios, coming to Wii U on September 26.
