Hyrule Warriors: Skyward Sword’s Fi Takes Point

July 8, 2014 by Tony Ponce

New information from Famitsu magazine also mentions new weapons and outfits for Link and Zelda.

Both Agitha and Midna are representing Twilight Princess in Koei Tecmo's Hyrule Warriors, and now it's time to jump ahead to Skyward Sword for the next playable fighter. Japan's Famitsu magazine has announced that Fi, the enchanted sword spirit from Link's 2011 adventure, will bring the pain in the Wii U-exclusive hack-and-slash. No debut video has yet appeared, but considering her role and behavior in Skyward Sword, we can speculate that she will float along the battlefield in a graceful, dance-like fashion and possibly even transform into a sword in order to deal damage.

Also revealed in the magazine is news that Ghirahim and The Improsined, two fierce villains also from Skyward Sword, will be enemy characters in Hyrule Warriors. Link and Zelda are likewise blessed with alternate costume based upon their Skyward Sword attire. Finally, two new weapons have been introduced — Link can swing the Ball and Chain from Twilight Princess while Zelda gets to flick what appears to be the Wind Waker baton.

Hyrule Warriors will charge onto Wii U on September 26.
