There’s a rumor going around that Lily Bergamo is no more, thanks to Let It Die. However, it may not be in the way that you think it is.
According to a fan in Japan, Lily Bergamo has essentially been reworked into Let It Die. The game retains the elements of being an extreme action game, now working with asynchronous online gameplay and using survival elements.
Last we heard about Lily Bergamo, it was to take influences from both Western and Japanese games alike. There is a special progression system which accumulated player data the more experience the player earns. There was also to be a companion app for smartphones, but we didn’t really know all that much about how they were to implement the online play and other features.
As it is now, Let It Die has many similar elements, although now you only use custom characters. The way asynchronous play has been implemented is that your opponents are other human player data, which the game has built into their own AIs. This feature has required a close collaboration with Sony to utilize their online systems. Let It Die also has no single player story, and it will be a free to play game.
The rumor source ends by stating that Tae Ioroi is no more, and it is no longer clear how Grasshopper will make use of Yusuke Kozaki’s talents, if at all. It seems clear his art isn’t used in the game at all.
I’m sure this comes as disappointing news to many of you, but don’t consider this 100 % confirmed yet. I think you should prepare for a possible confirmation though; as our source pointed out, back from the start, Suda51 explained that they only had a not-quite-ready-for-reveal build ready to show in its initial reveal. Radical reworkings like that simply happen.
We will make sure to update you on news regarding Let It Die andLily Bergamo alike.
