Sony has announced that they have greenlit development of the Grim Fandango Remake for Playstation 4 and Vita.
Details are sparse on this title, but from what we know before is that Double Fine’s Tim Schafer had been actively seeking out Disney to broker a deal for Grim Fandango for quite some time now. Now, Sony has revealed that they pulled strings with Disney to make this happen.
However, as Tim pointed out on Twitter, he will be talking about other platforms in a later time. So, it appears that the remakes are timed exclusives for Sony’s platforms.
Talk about other platforms soon! Sony's been a great help making this happen & we're excited to be working with them on the console version!

That really is the extent of what we know. Of course we can expect the HD treatment, but outside of that we don’t know if sound is getting remastered, they’re bringing back the same voice cast, etc. We will let you know when we get more information on Grim Fandango Remake as it comes out. In the meantime, you can watch the announcement below.
