Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Gets a New Trailer Ahead of E3 2014

June 5, 2014 by Ian Miles Cheong

This CGI trailer depicts the conditions of Talion’s undead-ness.

A new trailer for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor has been released, setting up the story of Talion, the game’s protagonist and Ranger of the Black Gate who dies to Sauron’s forces only to be resurrected by a mysterious force and sent back into Mordor to do what needs to be done (e.g. he has to kill a whole bunch of bad guys and make his way to the top bad guy).

You can watch the trailer below.

The trailer, released just now, details the conditions of Talion’s condition as a member of the living dead and shows how a Wraith has kept him alive to do his bidding. The video also showcases the aftermath of one of Talion’s battles against the forces of evil, with a lone survivor reporting back to his boss about the conditions of the defeat.

In addition to the trailer, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced that players who register for a WB ID through the Shadow of Mordor official website will receive two in-game runes: WBID Orc Hunter Rune, which allows Talion to increase terror from stealth takedowns, and the Palantir Gravewalker Rune, which lets Talion spread more fear after Uruk Captains are defeated.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is out on October 7 for the PS3, PS4, Windows PC, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
