Pokemon X and Y: Alleged Unreleased Hoopa Event Revealed

May 20, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

You know, when you think about it, Hoopa is kind of a dangerous unchecked monster. At least if you don’t have one.

Hey, you wouldn’t happen to be a hardcore Pokemon X and Y player, would you? We have some information on some alleged cancelled content for the game.

Apparently there was going to be a special event that you can trigger if you meet a certain NPC and you happen to have a Hoopa among your Pokemon. There doesn’t seem to be a reward for meeting this NPC, at least in-game. Instead, we hear an interesting story about the surprising extent of Hoopa’s power. Warning: Hoopa's kind of a freak.

So, for one, the Hoopa uses its three rings to move objects around as it pleases. When it unleashes its full power (its final form, if you like), the rings can expand miles long, giving it the power to move even whole islands.

The Hoopa’s lair is filled with different treasures and objects it has taken. It actually has a Duckburgian lair filled with mountains of gold and silver taken from kings and land barons. The lair is apparently out in an oasis in a desert, but no one has ever found it.

Finally, here’s a story about a certain unnamed organization who tried to use Hoopa’s power for their own ends. Their plans backfired when they found their various things disappearing, one by one. It became hard to ignore when they started losing money, weapons, and vehicles, and the organization ran scared and decided to hole up in their own HQ. All of a sudden, their things stopped disappearing.

However, when they tried to leave their HQ, they found out that the whole HQ itself was moved into the middle of the desert. Upon this discovery, the organization promptly disbanded.

This story ends with a cautionary tale that Hoopa can either become a source of great misfortune or a trustworthy partner, but it entirely depends on you, the Trainer.

So, Hoopa might be a surprisingly powerful Pokemon after all! I’m sure some of you are already thinking back to episodes of the show, or the lore from the trading cards and things like that for clues to connect this. If you do find a lead, don’t hesitate to share it with us in the comments below.

We’re sharing alleged images of the event for your scrutiny below.
