Mario Kart 8 Has A Crazy Number Of Customization Options

April 29, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

As if the antigravity gimmick and expanded roster weren’t enough, Nintendo ramps up your ability to customize your karts.

We have new information on the very soon-to-be-released Mario Kart 8. This information comes courtesy a NicoNico stream.

Before we get to that, there’s no new information here about the roster.  You can learn about the playable Mario Kart characters we know so far here.

So, the Karts, vehicles, tires, etc, each have particular customization options. You can go through the known custom options below:

·         Mario Kart 8 Karts

o   Standard Kart

o   Airship

o   Classical Cat

o   Bad Wagon

o   G-Force

o   Para-Bidybud

o   Pipe Frame

o   Princess Coach

o   Sneaker

o   Steel Diver (Would you look at that?)

o   Superstar

o   Tri-Smash

o   Turbo One.

·         Mario Kart 8 Bikes

o   Standard Bike

o   Broad Bean

o   Burning Bowl

o   Jet Rider

o   Mach GP (This is the one that will make you a Mach Rider.)

o   Maximum

o   Motor Dozer

o   Super Comet

o   Yoshi Bike.

·         Mario Kart 8 ATVs

o   Standard ATV

o   Bean Rider

o   Wild Wiggler

·         Mario Kart 8 Tires

o   Standard Tires

o   Normal Blue

o   Ring Tires

o   Spicy Rings

o   Roller

o   Sky Rollers

o   Monster

o   Wild Hot

o   Sponge

o   Slick

o   Cyber Slick

o   Block Tires

o   Cream Blocks

o   Metal Tires

o   Wood Rings

o   Button Tires

o   Cushion Tires

·         Mario Kart 8 Gliders

o   Super Glider

o   Cloud Balloons

o   Flower Glider

o   Koopa Kite

o   MKTV Parafoil

o   Parachute

o   Para-glider

o   Peach Parasol

o   Sail Plane

o   Waddlewing Kite

o   Wario Glider

In terms of racing options, you can choose your Team, Items, Class, CPU, CPU Machine, and Course Race Count.

Now, this image is the big takeaway. As you can see, Nintendo's still keeping a lot of things secret.

Now, we still don’t know for sure if this is the final build, but this is the build that was demonstrated in the NicoNico stream, and the same build that’s been shared to press and has been shown off in live events. We can only assume there would not be that many changes in the final game, if there are any at all.

Mario Kart 8 is coming May 30 for the Wii U.
