CEO of Sony Online Entertainment John Smedley spent his time on Reddit discussing feedback with players and even revealing some interesting tidbits about their recently announced zombie MMO H1Z1.
In a discussion that inluded the possibility of what helicopters could add to the game, Smedley says that they are doable but noted that it isn't a high priority if they do decide to add it in the future. I guess flying vehicles aren't an option for players in the early months of release.
Some people have voiced their concerns about making zombies playable since people could use it for exploitable causes. Smedley responded that the team is still debating on it. However, it is an option that they want tor try out and want to pull it off in a fun and non-exploitable way as much as possible. He calls for players not to judge until they have put it out there since the idea still hasn't been cooked.
Additionally, Smedley talked about how a player's items can be looted once they die to emphasize the importance of survival. The items degrade over time, so looting might not get weapons and clothing in the condition it was first found. Your character can reanimate though and still carry your inventory, so either way it's completely up for grabs. He also emphasized that Station Cash items won't be gone forever if a player dies.
On a related note, he assured players that global inventory isn't happening so players can't just gear up survival related items immediately after they die.
We recently posted our source's impressions of H1Z1 and it looks like it can be a serious contender against DayZ. Smedley also dropped some details regarding the game on various social media platforms.
