There are many good reasons for players in Diablo 3 to play on the game’s new Torment difficulty. Notably, the experience and gold gain far outweighs anything you can get on Master and lesser difficulties. The challenge that the new Torment mode and its difficulty sliders offer makes the game enjoyable.
That being said, if you want to farm for loot, Torment difficulty might not be the best place for you as it’s much easier to clear levels in the lower difficulty settings and get loot at a much faster rate than it would take otherwise.
To that end, Blizzard has announced that players on Torment difficulty will have the opportunity to earn additional rewards and legendary items as an added incentive to play on those harder modes when Reaper of Souls is released. According to Blizzard, the vast majority of Legendaries, though, both new and old, can drop in every difficulty.
