Elder Scrolls Online Armor Guide

March 16, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

We have descriptions and image galleries for your perusal.

This is a guide on the armor for Elder Scrolls Online. It will be updated as information is revealed, corrected, or changed.

These are the armor the player can wear: helmets, shoulder pads, chest plates, girdle, gloves, greaves, and boots.

There are three types of armor in Elder Scrolls Online, which correspond to certain effects. Light Armor augments magic, Medium Armor raises stamina, and Heavy Armor affects health and defense.

Light Armor has these skills:

  • Annulment – absorbs damage from spells. This is Light Armor’s active ability.
  • Evocation – Reduces Magicka cost.
  • Recovery – Increases Magicka regeneration.
  • Spell Warding – Increases spell resistance.
  • Concentration – Spells are unaffected by enemy spell resistance.
  • Prodigy – Increases critical damage.

Medium Armor has these skills:

  • Evasion – Increases chances to avoid melee attacks.
  • Improved Sneak –Reduces range at which you can be detected.
  • Wind Walker – Increases stamina regeneration.
  • Athletics – Increases sprint speed.
  • Dexterity – Increases chances of a critical strike.
  • Agility – Increases attack speed.

Heavy Armor has these skills:

  • Immovable – Reduces damage and provides immunity to knockback.
  • Juggernaut – Increases melee attack power.
  • Rapid Mending – Increases healing.
  • Resolve – Reduces damage, increases armor and spell resistance.
  • Constitution – Increases health regeneration.
  • Bracing – Reduces cost of blocking.

There are five Material types that can be used for armor; Dwarven armor, Daedric armor, Elven armor, Glass armor, and Orcish armor. Each type has different capabilities as Light, Medium, and Heavy armors. Some armors will have a set bonus if you wear the same type together. You can also get Repair Kits to repair damage on your own, so you don’t have to keep going back to the blacksmith as frequently and you can keep going back to the action quickly.

You can check out a gallery of the preview armors on the character creation screen. Bear in mind this is likely not all the armors in the game. It does not even have non-racial armors.
