The Xbox One needs a spark. It’s still very early in the life of the next-generation console, but sales for Microsoft’s latest box aren’t quite matching those of its surging competitor, Sony. What the next-gen box needs is a blockbuster game, and although there are no real sales numbers to draw from at this time, Microsoft marketing executive Yusuf Mehdi recently admitted that his company is making a big bet with the shooter.
"We're making a big bet that Titanfall is going to be a blockbuster launch for Xbox," Mehdi told Reuters in a recent interview. "We don't have a sales forecast for the game to share, but we expect it to be big for us."
The reviews – as long as we’re trusting critics and not users – are exactly what you’d like to see from a blockbuster. Expect information on the sales numbers in the near future, which is when we’ll really see the effects of all the marketing.
