BioWare has been keeping a tight lid on the development of the next Mass Effect, which is presumed to take place somewhere else within the universe established by the original trilogy. Players will no longer take on the role of Commander Shepard, but as someone else entirely. Beyond that, little is known about the game, except that it’s currently the most worked-on game at the EA-owned studios in Canada besides Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Today, BioWare studio director Yanick Roy posted a brief update on the development of the game, apologizing for the severe drought of information coming from the company with regards to the next Mass Effect. He stated that the studio’s current focus is on “doing it right over doing it fast.”
Sounds like the Blizzard mantra of releasing a game “when it’s done.”
He wrote: “I apologize for not having any new info on the next Mass Effect for you. It's because our focus is on doing it right over doing it fast! :-)”
We see your smiley face, and accept this as a reasonable answer. With any luck, BioWare will reveal much about the game at the upcoming E3 2014, but whether that happens or not remains to be seen.
