WWE 2K Battlegrounds Teaser Trailer Showcases New Arcade Style Game Incoming

April 27, 2020 by Jordan Biazzo

This looks pretty fun!

2K Games have taken to their blog this morning to surprise fans with a new game announcement from the WWE 2K franchise.

A new arcade-style WWE game is coming and it is set to release this Fall! Titled WWE Battlegrounds, players both fans of the WWE franchise and newcomers alike, will be able to pick up the new game and have fun with it as it serves more as a beat em’ up title than simulator fighting game.

Being developed by Saber Interactive, known for NBA Playgrounds, players will be able to jump into some of their favorite characters and perform some crazy moves. The game seems very familair to NBA Playgrounds due to its art style, gameplay mechanics, and over the top action. 2K Games have not announced an official release date for the game nor the consoles it will be available on, but they did release a new teaser trailer for the game!

Check out the teaser trailer for WWE 2K Battlegrounds down below:

We’re thrilled to introduce you to WWE 2K Battlegrounds, a completely new WWE gaming experience that will feature arcade-style action and over-the-top Superstar designs, environments and moves. We’re focusing on social pick-up-and-play fun, but with plenty of depth for those who want to get way into it.

Whether you’re a casual gamer just learning the ropes or a passionate fan ready for all the action, WWE 2K Battlegrounds provides another way to enjoy WWE video game action. The game is being developed by Saber Interactive, the studio behind NBA 2K Playgrounds, who have been hard at work on WWE 2K Battlegrounds and are excited to let you smell what they’re cookin’.

In related news, 2K Games have announced that the long-running WWE 2K franchise will be coming to a halt. WWE 2K21 has been officially cancelled due to the lack of sales made in 2K20. Learn more about the cancellation of WWE 2K21 right here!

WWE 2K Battlegrounds is scheduled to launch this Fall, however, no consoles have been announced as of yet. Are you excited for the upcoming arcade-style WWE game? Let us know in the comments below!
