People Are Lending Their Maintenance Services For Animal Crossing: New Horizons

April 21, 2020 by Dennis Patrick

Keep your island in order.

The Nintendo Switch had a big video game launch not that long ago. Thanks to the release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the urge for consumers to pick up a Nintendo Switch is at an all-time high. Fans of the franchise to newcomers are enjoying their time of cleaning up an island and establishing a community. Of course, this is a game played in real-time which means that you may find yourself having to go through the island regularly to make sure that no weeds are needing to be pulled or gardens that require watering.

One of the big pulls for Animal Crossing: New Horizons is that players can invite friends to visit their island whenever. This could help in terms of trading or show off the place you’ve worked hard at establishing and maintaining. However, if you find that maintaining the island is a bit too much for you to keep up with, you could find yourself gravitating towards some of the services popping up online.

Some gamers in China are offering 'Housekeeping' services to other Animal Crossing: New Horizons players in the country.

You can pay them to cut weeds, trees, water flowers and conduct other general maintenance tasks.

We’ve seen plenty of online services pop up for video games in the past. From having individuals log in and level your character in an MMO to also offering some training services. We didn’t realize that there would soon be a service starting up to help keep your island in order. However, that’s exactly what’s showing up online as gamers are willing to accept real-world currency to visit your island, water your gardens, trees, clear weeds among any other daily tasks that would go into making sure your island is in shape for visitors at any given moment.

Some of the appeals for gamers is simply doing these mundane tasks. However, if that’s not something you want to take care of at any given moment, perhaps using these types of services will help make your experience a bit better.
