We have a guide for you on what class and game mode to use to quickly go up the ranks in Call of Duty Ghosts. As always, the video is here, and we have summarized the contents for you below.
We know you have been looking for this one, because ranking up is generally too slow in Call of Duty Ghosts. Actually, though, you can get to prestiging in less than a day.
Now, the best mode in the game for this purpose is Cranked. It is fast, so fast that you will accumulate kills and XP at a rapid pace. Matches also run by quickly, so you will also earn match bonuses faster here than in other game modes. You can earn as much as 10,000 to 20,000 XP within 5 to 10 minutes, and really, with that in mind, why would you want to go camping?
Because of Cranked’s breakneck pace, you will need a gun suited for running and gunning. The MTAR has a high rate of fire, and also has great hip-fire accuracy. Use the MTAR to stick to the edges to the map, and keep encounters up close and personal to make the most of that hip-fire. You should be able to make the first shot every time. The MTAR also has great range for an SMG.
For attachments, you will want to use the silencer and rapid fire. Rapid fire increases that rate of fire, helping you take enemies down quicker, and the silencer is perfect for flanking from behind. Here’s the thing; with this setup, you will not be using secondary, lethal, or tactical weapons. Reallocate these into perks instead.
Your first kill in Cranked will hand you over a bunch of perks already, namely, sleight of hand, agility, marathon, stalker, and quickdraw. Now, regarding perks, you will want to get steady aim to improve accuracy. You also want to use takedown so you can take out the enemy in their own hometurf freely. Now, you combine this with dead silence, as well as the silencer attachment, and the enemy won’t even know you’re around until it’s too late.
Amplify also works with dead silence, giving you the opportunity to actively stalk you enemies when they can’t find you. ICU will help you get health rapidly, so you won’t have to slow down. Hardline, along with Specialist, will reward you with fast XP. So, you will want to use Specialist on scorestreaks to be rewarded with XP with every perk.
Subsequently, you want to use perks that optimize your use of Specialist. Resilience makes it so that you get no falling damage, and scavenger ensures you keep yourself armed, again to enable you to just keep going. Finally, TAC resist will allow you to go unfettered in spite of EMPs, stuns, etc.
These perks will help power you up after getting the 10 kills bonus. Off the grid keeps you off of the enemy’s radar. Wiretap then lets you use enemy SAT coms so you can stalk them instead. Finally, focus gives you less flinch, so even if you’re only hip firing, it’s worth acquiring to improve accuracy that much.
