ESA Issues Official Statement on Sony E3 2020 Surprising Announcement

The ESA, entertainment software association, has taken to their site to issue an official statement in response to Sony not attending E3 2020.

The news broke late last night that Sony will not be attending E3 2020, as it does not fit their vision for the year. However, they plan to take the upcoming PlayStation 5 and showcase it at hundred of consumers events. Naturally, the ESA was surprised to see the huge publisher miss the show for the second time in a row. However, they were really quick on a response.

Check out the official statement issued from the ESA on Sony’s absent from E3 2020 down below:

“E3 is a signature event celebrating the video game industry and showcasing the people, brands and innovations redefining entertainment loved by billions of people around the world.

E3 2020 will be an exciting, high-energy show featuring new experiences, partners, exhibitor spaces, activations, and programming that will entertain new and veteran attendees alike. Exhibitor interest in our new activations is gaining the attention of brands that view E3 as a key opportunity to connect with video game fans worldwide.”

Last night, Sony has announced that the company will once again be skipping E3, and will rather focus on participating in hundreds of consumer events across the globe. The official announcement was made to where a Sony spokesperson told the website that Sony will be skipping the global gaming convention.

This seems to be the trend for gaming companies, and it looks like Sony is doubling down and will separate themselves from the competition and have all the attention focused on them rather than sharing the spotlight. Apparently E3 2020 will not be the right venue for what Sony has planned for the year. Make sure to check out the full announcement from Sony right here!
