As examples of the female characters based on their male counterparts, dubbed Ms. Male Character, the video begins with Ms. Pac-Man and her evolution from the popularity of the original Pac-Man. Further examples of the Ms. Male Character include Amy Rose from Sonic, Ms. Spolsion Man and even Wonder-Pink from The Wonderful 101.
Anita Sarkeesian examines a variety of topics about women in video games for her YouTube channel, Feminist Frequency. To fund production of the video series, she launched a Kickstarter project asking for $6,000. The Kickstarter raised $158,922.
