Valve has officially unveiled the full details about their long-awaited title in the Half-Life series, Half-Life: Alyx.

Officially announced early this week, players were thrilled to see the developers return to the dormant IP, and many of us were surprised to hear that it was a VR title, however thanks to today’s announcement trailer, faith has been restored and possible hype is ensuing.

The new announcement trailer showcases the game in action, and even though its fully developed for VR, the game is looking absolutely stunning. We see a familiar face at the end, some familiar enemy types, and a new point of view into the universe of Half-Life. Enough talking about the trailer, let’s watch it!

Set between the events of Half-Life and Half-Life 2, Alyx Vance and her father Eli mount an early resistance to the Combine’s brutal occupation of Earth.

The loss of the Seven-Hour War is still fresh. In the shadow of a rising Combine fortress known as the Citadel, residents of City 17 learn to live under the rule of their invaders. But among this scattered population are two of Earth’s most resourceful scientists: Dr. Eli Vance and his daughter Alyx, the founders of a fledgling resistance.
