So it’s no secret that the lucky few who have gotten themselves a Playstation 4 this early are reporting all manner of issues for it everywhere. Sony has confirmed that they are looking into it, of course, courtesy Shuhei Yoshida via his Twitter account.
Be assured we are investigating reported PS4 issues. The number is very small compared to shipped, we believe they are isolated incidents.

Shuhei also explains that these issues are only affecting a small number of users compared to the units shipped, and that they believe these are isolated incidents. Of course, the number of units shipped do not match the number of people who have these units right now, and do not anticipate possible future reports of issues when the userbase has increased in number.
Some of the issues cited so far include faulty HDMI connections, faulty OSes, and just plain broken systems. There are also relatively smaller isolated incidents of broken audio and controllers. These were experienced by winners of the Taco Bell Playstation 4 contest and some members of the gaming press alike.
We have shared guides on how to troubleshoot for some of the most common issues here and here. If you may remember, we also tracked down earlier incidents in demos where the Playstation 4 seemed to freeze or have overheating problems here and here, in both cases quickly rebuffed.
As Sony says, they do not believe most users will encounter these issues, and for the sake of consumers, we hope they are correct. It is hard to not be alarmed by these news, but if these consoles are found lacking, Sony is sure to be held liable so fan or not, now we should just wait for more news.
