Happy Call of Duty week, dear readers. The reviews might not be as strong as in previous years, but the blockbuster shooter still managed to make bags and bags of money since launching Nov. 5. To show some appreciation for all the school and work skippers who’ve likely put an embarrassing number of hours into Ghosts, Infinity Ward will be kicking off its first double XP weekend tonight.
Starting at 1 p.m. EST, players will be able to earn twice the experience points for each and every online action. So, that means that you’re pretty much wasting valuable time if you don’t sit at home, grab a case of Mountain Dew, open up a family-sized bag of Cool Ranch Doritos, and have yourself a good time on the fields of battle.
If you haven’t picked up the game, though, you might want to take a look at our review.
“A bipolar package, it’s difficult to say what the lesson here is. If it were comprehensively mediocre I’d know how to put it in its place. But the flashes here and there confuse the issue, indicating either that Infinity Ward began to figure out what was going on during production or that if you throw enough money and manpower at a game then at least some part of it will turn out well. I don’t know which one is the truth in this instance, and I won’t even try to guess.”
Call of Duty: Ghosts is now available for purchase on PC and current-gen consoles, and will land on next-gen machines at launch.
