Blizzard Entertainment has quite the popular hero FPS that has been around for several years. In this game, players take the role of a unique hero with their powers and abilities. From there its a battle against the opposing team and due to the variety of heroes there’s some strategy that goes into the game. Chances are you’ve likely already played the game as it’s available on all major platforms such as the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and most recently, the Nintendo Switch. But with that said, a new rumor going around is suggesting we will see an Overwatch 2 announcement.
It’s a bit hazy still but it seems that ESPN has sources that indicate that Blizzard will be unveiling Overwatch 2 during BlizzCon this November 1, 2019. From what we have gathered so far, it seems that there will be one major change that you may find of interest. Outside of PvP, there will be a PvE campaign mode with story missions. Now we don’t know just what that entails quite yet, but it does offer some new incentives for those that may have skipped out on Overwatch because it lacked a storyline campaign.
Furthermore, there will be a new PvP game mode and even a brand new hero. We’re not quite sure if this will be something similar to Fortnite’s latest chapter 2 launch or if this will be a new standalone title that will slowly take over Overwatch. Either way, Nintendo Switch users are just now getting access to the original game so we’re certainly wondering what this could mean for the platform.
At any rate, we’ll simply have to wait and see if this rumor proves to be true during the upcoming convention and what exactly the development studio has planned when they decide to launch the game into the market. While we wait for the upcoming con, let us know what changes you would personally like to see made to the IP.
