Battlefield 4 Bugs and Errors Fixes Guide

October 29, 2013 by Stephen Daly

Here’s a number of solutions to the problems currently affecting Battlefield 4.

With any game the size of Battlefield 4 there's going to be some issues and those currently engaged in thegame have taken to Reddit to offer fixes for the bugs hitting the shooter.

If you experience flashing disco light in single or multiplayer need to re-download the drivers for the beta which should stop the problem.

  • The nVidia drivers can be downloaded here.
  • AMD users need to access these drviers.
  • The Intel drivers you need are located here.

Downloading the latest driver, 331.65, released today, seems to fix the problem according to reports.

Of course, that isn't the only problem hitting the game with some users experiencing an error message reading 'Missing MSVCP110.dli'.

To fix this problem what you do need to do is head over to:

  • X:\Program Files(x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4_Installer\vc\vc2012Update3\redist and run both setups again.
  • You should do the same again for X:\Program Files(x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4_Installer\directx\redist\DXSETUP.exe just in case.

Also affecting some users is a Battlelog video memory leak which can be solved by closing the tab after the game is joined or by using AdBlock to stop the video loading. The issue should however stop occuring once you join a match.

Some other issues impacting players include the sound card cutting out and the binocluars not working during campaign mode. At the moment, there doesn't seem to be a fix for these issues but this post will be updated if solutions are discovered.

There also seems to be an issue with designating targets for a helicopter during the first mission with many players being unable to select the required equippment. It seems that this is something DICE will have to patch; hopefully soon. For some players, the game crashes and a text box stating 'Battlefield is not working' pops up but unfortunately there's currently no fix in place.

Players are also revealling FOV problems which may be solved by downloading the latest drivers.

Battlefield 4 is out now in North America and will be released on November 1st in Europe for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. It will launch later in November for PS4 and Xbox One.
