Pokemon X and Y: How to Fix Your Frozen Lumiose City Gamesave

October 21, 2013 by Josiah Renaudin

A quick fix for the Pokemon X and Y save bug has been discovered.

Unfortunately, there’s a growing number of players who are being affected by a nasty Pokemon X and Y bug that might just ruin their days. This particular glitch gets activated when a player tries saving while outside the Lumiose City streets, often when a taxi is passing by. It forces the game to freeze when trying to reload, and while Nintendo is aware of the issue and doing its best to issue a fix, there have been some trainers who’ve been able to beat this bug. We have a quick, three-step process for you to try if you’ve found yourself face-to-face with this irritating issue.

This isn’t a guaranteed, fool-proof solution, but some users have reported success when trying the method. The first step is to load the glitched game in question. As the game is being loaded, wait for the music to start to come from the speakers of the 3DS. Once this is heard, press the home button repeatedly until it works. Yes, just mash that one button for as long as it takes. Some people are saying it takes about five minutes to do the trick, but for those who’ve already put dozens of hours into Pokemon X and Y, simply smashing a button for a few minutes isn’t the worst thing in the world.

Let us know if you got this fix to work. If not, you’ll have to wait a few more days before this bizarre problem is resolved and you can return to the wonderful world of Pokemon.
