Hollywood actor Michael Fassbender assures fans that the Assassin's Creed film is "definitely happening" in an interview with The Daily Beast.
"That’s definitely happening. We’re just developing the script at the moment. I’d heard of it but had never played the game. I don’t have a video game player … that’s notwhat they’re called. [Laughs] I met up with the guys from Ubisoft and they told me the story behind it, and I thought it was very interesting—the idea of reliving memories," Fassbender told Marlow Stern of The Daily Beast.
Fassbender was announced as the film adaptation's star and co-producer last July. He is best known for his roles as Magneto in X-men: First Class and David in Prometheus.
The latest game in the franchise, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, is scheduled for release on October 29th worldwide for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms. The PC version will be out on November 19th in North America and November 22nd in Europe.
