Pennywise Is Leaving His Calling Card In Fortnite

September 5, 2019 by Dennis Patrick

A new crossover event is in the works.

Fortnite is no stranger to crossover events. It wasn’t very long ago that we received the Stranger Things crossover to celebrate the season three premiere. Now a new crossover event appears to be in the works in reference to IT. Specifically, this crossover is likely tied to the IT sequel which will be hitting theaters tomorrow, September 6, 2019. Now gamers who hop into a match may find a red balloon near street water drains, the calling card used by Pennywise.

Right now, it doesn’t look like Epic Games is making any statement on the matter so this crossover has yet to be officially announced. This makes it all the spookier as there’s no telling just what else will be popping up before Epic Games acknowledges the event. For now, all that players will encounter is the red balloons which can be popped to unleash some confetti and laughter noise effect.

Because the IT sequel doesn’t release until tomorrow there’s a good chance that more crossover material from the franchise will make an appearance. Likewise, this could play into a weekly challenge for players, but again, that remains to be seen. At any rate, it’s best to keep an eye out for any new clown sightings, skins or additional unusual items being tossed into the map.

Fortnite is a free battle royale title for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android platforms.
