It was a surprise announcement that we got news of a Blair Witch video game title. During Microsoft’s E3 2019 press conference briefing it was unveiled that Bloober Team is developing a Blair Witch title based on the popular horror franchise. Just as the original film that released years ago, Blair Witch from Bloober Team will feature a found footage style of gameplay. While we don’t have too many details about the game just yet, there is new 4K gameplay footage which you can check out in the video embedded above.
From what we know so far about the game, players will be taking on the role of a man searching the woods with his faithful companion dog. It seems that a girl has gone missing and you’re out in hopes to find out what happened and potentially offer a means of rescue. The woods are dense and to keep everything documented along providing evidence, players will be using a camcorder with an attached flashlight. As you soon find out, the woods are home to something not of this world, but you’ll have to press on and put the pieces together of what happened to the missing girl.
Luckily, you won’t have to wait too long before you’re able to get into this video game. Currently, Bloober Team is looking to bring out i out into the market for both the Xbox One and PC platforms this August 30, 2019. While we wait for the game to fully release we suggest taking a look at the latest 4K footage in the video above along with a screenshots gallery down below.
