It was a piece of bittersweet news to learn that Reggie Fils-Aime was retiring from Nintendo. The man has become iconic with the company and has been present for a number of the international event held by Nintendo. After putting in over a decade into Nintendo, the soon to be former Nintendo of America president will be sitting back and relaxing as this successor, Doug Bowser, will be taking on his role. However, as we get closer to his final date with Nintendo, April 15, 2019, could we see a final Nintendo Direct while he retains his position?
A new rumor has been circulating online that suggests Nintendo will be holding a new Nintendo Direct this week, more specifically on April 11, 2019. This would be the final week where Reggie is still with Nintendo and it could not only provide a nice memorial of his services and work put into the company but one last big announcement of what’s to come. Likewise, this could also be a proper way to bring in Doug Bowser as the next face of Nintendo for America.

We’re not entirely sure of what we could potentially see from Nintendo during this rumored Nintendo Direct, especially due to the upcoming E3 expo just a couple of months away. Some have suggested that this upcoming direct will have a bigger look into Super Mario Maker 2. At any rate, we’re definitely keeping our eyes open for any potential announcements for this week from Nintendo and we’ll, of course, keep you posted on the very latest.
