As Rayman Legends hits store shelves, some PlayStation Vita owners may notice a missing game mode that alters existing game levels.
The Invasion Mode for Rayman Legends takes existing stages and makes them even more punishing. The PlayStation Vita version does not include the Invasion Mode at launch but the mode will come as a free download at a later date. To explain the missing mode, Gary Steinman of Ubisoft posted a comment in response to readers wondering about the missing PS Vita content.
Steinman wrote, "Due to a longer development time than expected, we couldn’t initially include the Invasion Mode – essentially, a second take on existing Rayman Legends maps — in the Vita version of the game. However, we can confirm that the Invasion Mode will be added via a free patch, at a later date."
Considering the numerous delays and switch from Wii U exclusive to multiplatform title, the "longer than expected development time" reads as a perfect excuse to cover the real reason for the missing content.
