Mario Kart Tour Just Got Delayed

February 1, 2019 by Dennis Patrick

Nintendo is now aiming for Summer 2019 release.

Nintendo has recently taken a chance with the mobile market. Instead of delivering video games exclusively to their line of consoles and portable gaming systems, Nintendo opted to deliver a new line of portable video games that could be accessed through both iOS and Android devices. There may not be a wide selection of video games from Nintendo’s IP library, but you so far have some heavy hitters. Currently, players can enjoy titles such as Super Mario Run, Fire Emblem Heroes, and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. Though there are a number of other Nintendo video games in the works, one of which is a Mario Kart title known as Mario Kart Tour.

The Mario Kart series has been doing well since it first released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System with the latest main installment being Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for the Nintendo Switch also thriving today. Unfortunately, we don’t really know too much at all when it comes to the upcoming Mario Kart Tour video game other than that the title was supposed to release in March of this year. Now new reports are coming out that Nintendo will be missing that expected launch date with the title now being pushed back towards mid-2019.

Fans are wondering just what this new Mario Kart video game would be like on their smartphones and tablets. For instance, how will this game turn a profit and will this be a full Mario Kart experience instead of some type of spin-off title that would only pay homage to the actual franchise? Regardless, outside of the announcement of it being pushed back from a Japanese post on Nintendo’s Twitter account, we don’t have any images or footage to showcase just what gamers can expect from the title.

While we wait for the upcoming release of Mario Kart Tour, we want to know what Nintendo IP titles you would like to see release on your smartphone? Let us know by leaving a comment down below.
