EA's Patrick Soderlund has spoken to Polygon about how DICE and its other studios are rethinking how Star Wars games are made.
He said that with all of EA's games set in the franchise it was important to impress people.
"The most important thing for me is that we take the Star Wars license and come up with games where peoples' jaws drop," Soderlund commented. "We need to do with what [Batman: Arkham Asylum] did for the Batman license."
However, he said there isn't much he can divulge about Star Wars: Battlefront which was announced from DICE at E3.
"It's going to take awhile," he said. "We just announced the license and showed a sneak peek of Hoth. The speeder and the AT-AT will be in [the game] for sure."
Soderlund added that DICE approached him specfically asking to oversee the Battlefront series.
"I didn't think they wanted to build it," he said. "I thought they only wanted their own IP. But it's a really good fit."
He adds the DICE will be looking both to the past games and what was done done during the development of Battlefront 3 before that title's cancellation.
"We didn't toss anything out," he said. "We're looking at the old games. We have access to everything that was done during the LucasArts era. But we do want to take our own stance."
Star Wars: Battlefront does not currently have a confirmed release date or launch platforms but it's likely in development for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
