Look, not everyone looking to pick up NBA 2K14 later this year is going to want LeBron James showing his unique skillset on the cover. He might be the most popular athlete in the game today, but the Miami Heat superstar is still a divisive figure in the NBA. Two championship rings don’t just erase one of the most controversial “decisions” in the sport, so for those looking for a different face to coat this year’s release, the option is now out there. Every single team has a printable HD cover that can replace what 2K Games is offering, as long as you have some nice paper to print it on.
Some of the biggest stars of each individual team are represented on these alternate covers, including Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls, Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors, James Harden of the Houston Rockets, and many more. However, this fan-made gallery seems to have been put together before a few major trades occurred in the offseason. The Boston cover features two players, Garnett and Piece, who are now playing for Brooklyn, while the sole star for the 76ers, Holiday, isn’t even on the team anymore. Hopefully, a few of these issues can be amended before the game actually releases.
Still, it’s an impressive effort from a very vocal community. The artist has noted that each alternate cover is twice as large as the actual art, so fans will need to print them at 50 percent size to get the correct fit. You can look forward to new covers, and the return of Crew mode, in NBA 2K14 later this year.
