We haven’t seen too many games release that includes a physical game manual. Instead, gamers usually receive the game disc along with the physical case but we’ve seen more developer’s attempt to dive more into companion apps with their games. Again, these applications seem to be few and far between, but one game that may find gamers making use of a companion application is Red Dead Redemption 2. This is already a highly anticipated video game title and now we’re just days away from its official launch and we’re still learning more about the game such as the companion application that will release alongside the video game.
This application will be available on both Apple iOS and Google’s Android platform. Within the application, gamers will be able to see the map in real-time and outside of viewing the map, you can freely mark points of interest. Connecting to your PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, players can have a more immersive experience but dropping the HUD and using a tablet or smartphone to use as a means of navigation.
Outside of the map of Red Dead Redemption 2, players will also find a journal of Arthur Morgan’s that will help give you more insight of the character and its likely something that will be updated frequently as you progress through the game.
Unfortunately, we don’t have any more details on what else of interest that may be featured within the companion application, but as mentioned, you can enjoy the companion application along with the game when it officially launched October 26, 2018, alongside the Red Dead Redemption 2 video game.
