CD Projekt RED Gives Expansive Look Into Their Upcoming Witcher Title, Thronebreaker; Watch 37-Minutes of Gameplay Here

October 12, 2018 by Jordan Biazzo

For PC players, this game is right around the corner!

CD Projekt RED has been quietly working on more Witcher content, and this time it comes to fans in a new form. The latest title from the franchise is titled — Thronebrekaer: The Witcher Tales — in which players will experience the Witcher like never before.

Thronebreaker takes inspiration from the fan favorite Gwent series in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. However, it doesn’t stop there, CD Projekt RED added a story, actual gameplay and much more. They have been relatively quiet about the game until now, a 37-minute long developer gameplay walkthrough has been released.

Check out the 37-minute long gameplay walkthrough down below:

Thronebreaker is a single player role-playing game set in the world of The Witcher that combines narrative-driven exploration with unique puzzles and card battle mechanics. Crafted by the developers responsible for some of the most iconic moments in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the game spins a truly regal tale of Meve, a war-veteran queen of two Northern Realms — Lyria and Rivia. Facing an imminent Nilfgaardian invasion, Meve is forced to once again enter the warpath, and set out on a dark journey of destruction and revenge.

The gameplay is centered around the card-playing mechanics of Gwent, but with additional features. Plus there is loads of story told throughout the game, so it’s not just a game filled with card playing. The game does look interesting, both in terms of gameplay and story, I guess we will have to wait to see how the final verdict comes out when the game launches later this month.

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is set to release on PC this month on October 23, while the console side of things will have to wait until December 4th. Are you thinking about picking up the latest title from CD Projekt RED? Let us know in the comments below!
