Yesterday, news broke that DC’s Man of Steel, Henry Cavill, will dawn the role of Geralt of Rivia in the upcoming Netflix adaptation.
Many fans were left in awe and some with doubt if Cavill could pull off the role. However, as noted from yesterday, showrunner Lauren Hissrich has complete and utter trust that Cavill was born for the role.
Now today, Doug Cockle, famed voice actor of our beloved hero — Geralt, took to Twitter to discuss his thoughts on the casting. Check out his tweet down below:
People keep asking… so… let me go on record saying I think that #HenryCavill will do a great job as #GeraltOfRivia ! He'll make it his own of course, as well he should, and I can't wait to see what @LHissrich and the whole @netflix team create. It's gonna be #Magic 😀🦄

As you can tell from the tweet, Cockle thinks Cavill will do a great job as the infamous monster hunter. This is quite reassuring coming from the only Geralt in visual entertainment, beside the books. Of course, Cavill will take his own spin on the character as he won’t be a direct carbon copy of his video game counterpart, but that is to be expected.
Cavill is set to play Geralt of Rivia in the upcoming Netflix series, which has been pegged for 8 episodes. The show will take inspiration from the books rather the game, so we won’t be seeing any iconic scenes, favorite side missions, or the main storyline from any of the games within the Netflix original.
