E3 is wrapping up and all the biggest video game announcements, updates and reveals have been shown off to the masses. However, there are a few games we can’t help but wonder just why they were not present in any capacity during this year’s expo. One of those video game titles was Metroid Prime 4.
The video game made a very brief appearance during Nintendo’s E3 direct last year and since then we’ve been waiting for news regarding the upcoming installment. With fans eagerly awaiting the release of the next Metroid Prime title, E3 seemed like a great opportunity for Nintendo to make some big announcements.
However, this year’s E3 Nintendo Direct from Nintendo was rather scarce of those big reveals we had hoped for. So where’s Metroid Prime 4? The question came up during an interview between Game Informer and Nintendo America’s product marketing manager Bill Trinen along with localization manager Nate Bihldorff.
Apparently, Nintendo is still very much in development with the game and it’s not ready to be shown off. Bill Trinen stated that the last year Nintendo E3 Direct was a bit more game heavy because it was the first year for the Nintendo Switch hardware resulting in Nintendo unveiling games that are coming to the console but may not be ready in the near future.
Metroid Prime 4 is too early still in development to be shown off and Nintendo has transitioned back to the standard E3 Nintendo Direct formula. Essentially, games will only be unveiled or spoken about when they are close to completion and that ultimately means, Metroid Prime 4 will be shown off when Nintendo is ready.
