Microsoft's push to mesh together television viewing on your console continues with another Xbox's exclusive franchise coming with a television series.
343 Industries' announcement to produce a Halo TV series with an HBO sized budget, appears to represent a better fit than the long rumored movie. For the release of Quantum Break, Remedy plans to produce a television series to run alongside the game's release. When playing the game, your actions will ultimately change the outcome of the television show's story.
"How you play the game impacts the show and the show informs how you play the game."
Remedy's creative vision involves an "interactive component… where actions in one and viewing in one, impact what people are doing in the other."
In an interview with Sam Lake on Major Nelson's podcast, Sam Lake said Quantum Break will connect to the television show to create "this really big interactive experience together – the game and the show."
Until E3 -where Sam Lake promises he will reveal more about the game and television show – it remains unclear how exactly both pieces of media will impact each other.
Will the show air on television and Xbox One? Will the changes apply to only your story or do the changes come from the collective behaviour of the community?
Quantum Break will not launch with the Xbox One, but expect to see more at the event.
