Sony has provided a release date for Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection, the core canon collection that was made official last month, and we haven't got too long to wait. According to the official PlayStation blog, the collection will be in stores from July 9th this year. Sony would also like you to know, of course, that you can preorder the game from Amazon.
For those who hadn't heard, Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection includes “every canon Metal Gear release to grace PlayStation platforms from 1998's Metal Gear Solid to 2008's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots to 2011's Metal Gear Solid HD Collection”. So that means Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, as well as Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, the Metal Gear Solid digital graphic novels from Ashley Wood (and apparently this is the first time they will have been made available outside of Japan), and a 100-page art book.
That's quite a lot of content, and all for around the price of one new game: $49.99. But those who've already bought the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection might be annoyed that another collection has hit the market only a couple of years after that one did. Will there be yet another collection in another couple of years that features all of the above and maybe the Portable Ops games?
