New Grand Theft Auto 5 Screens Show Deep Sea Diving and a Mini-Submarine

May 16, 2013 by Stephen Daly

GTA 5 is heading underwater.

Four new screenshots for Rockstar's massively anticipated Grand Theft Auto 5 have been released and showcase deep sea diving, high speed chases and yes, some grand theft auto.

Based on the darkness of the water and the mini-submarine it appears that you will be able to dive to quite significant depths though just how big a part of the game this will be remains to be seen. The screens also reveal that there are now motorbike police officers.

You can see all of the images below and more images from the game here; that set of screenshots also includes a diving scene though not with the submarine.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is set to be released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 17th and Rockstar has confirmed that all screenshots so far released are from current generation consoles. Recently, we highlighted a gallery comparing screens from Grand Theft Auto 5 to Grand Theft Auto San Andreas.

The game features three protagonists; Franklin, Trevor and Michael who have reached received a trailer highlighting their character. Though some were disgruntled to find that all of the game's main characters are male it appears that there will be female heist assistants.

Some information as to the other characters and voice actors in the game has also been discovered. The title will be bypassing both E3 and gamescom so the first opportunity people will likely have to play the game will be upon its release.
