Borderlands 2 Krieg the Psycho Bandit DLC Arriving May 14

The big, bad new character for Borderlands 2 will burst onto the scene this month.

If you’re still steeped in the rich universe included in Gearbox Software’s Borderlands 2, the developer has some more content to keep you hooked. Krieg the Psycho Bandit, the sixth playable character in this open-world, highly colorful shooter, will be arriving May 14. If you’re not keeping track, that’s just one week from today.

The studio has been teasing this big hulk of a man for quite some time. We’ve seen his massive weapon covered in spikes, the metal mask that covers what we assume is a beautiful face, and his shirtless torso. However, we now finally have hard facts about when the terrifying warrior will be playable. Krieg will act as a high-risk melee brawler carrying what can only be called a buzz axe. Since he’s, well, crazy, Krieg only gets stronger as the fight carries on. His damage will increase as he fights with his axe, takes damage from enemy fire, and is even set on fire. It’s this character's unique skill trees, which include Bloodlust, Mania, and Hellborn, that allow for such a wild play style.

The $30 Season Pass that players can purchase for Borderlands 2 does not include the additional characters that are introduced. The fifth character, Gaige, was a standalone chunk of DLC, and it will be the exact same deal with Kreig, who will be a part of the $9.99 Psycho Pack downloadable content. Fans of all the running, gunning, and skill upgrading can look to drop the cash on this beefy combatant when he arrives May 14.
