Konami has announced plans to release a new DLC for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, which stars Raiden's canine companion, Blade Wolf. The DLC was originally announced for release in April.
Thus far, the DLC has only been confirmed for release in Japan on May 9—that's just two weeks away. The content pack will cost 1,000 yen, or $9.95 in its US equivalent, should it see release outside of Japan.
Screenshots of the DLC can be seen below.
The DLC contains new side-story missions surrounding Blade Wolf, in which players will take on the role of the cyborg dog equipped with a chainsaw, railgun and a Swiss Army Knife's worth of deadly implements. Like other VR missions in Metal Gear Rising, the DLC's protagonist will come with its own slew of attacks and combat style so you'll have to develop some familiarity with the character before rushing headlong into combat.
According to Konami, the DLC is set prior to the events of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, so you won't feel left out in the cold if you decide not to pick it up.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is currently available on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
