Namco Bandai has put up a new contest to build up some hype for Dark Souls 2. The contest is done in the form of a design contest, in which participants are urged to design their own shield for Dark Souls 2. It's a lot like the one HBO did for their on-going series, Game of Thrones, but winners will see the addition of their shield within the game itself.
The contest is up on Facebook. Interested participants can download, choose, and customize three shield templates and then upload the artwork. Beyond doing that, participants can also browse other submitted shield designs and vote on their favorites so they can vote for their buddies.
The winning designs (yes, there's more than one) will receive copies of Dark Souls 2 signed by the developers of the game, and have their creations featured in-game as items you can loot and equip. Additionally, creators will also be given full credit for their designs in the game's credits.
If you want to join in, just head on over to the Facebook page, like it, and play.
The design contest is now available for English-speaking players, and follows the on-going contest open to Japanese players.
