As noted a few weeks back, the latest from the man that gave us Katamari Damacy and Noby Noby Boy will be debuting his latest game at this year's Game Developers Conference. And that's all we knew. Until now.
The name and other bits of info have been revealed, courtesy of Venus Patrol, one of the game's co-producers (alongside Wild Rumpus and Uvula). It's called Tenya Wanya Teens, according to Venus Patrol's Brandon Boyer:
"It’s “a coming-of-age tale about love, hygiene, monsters and finding discarded erotic magazines in the woods”. It’s a game about trying desperately to not say or do the wrong thing at the wrong time — that universal struggle to maintain the façade of normality during the awkward transition from child- to adulthood."
It's also a party game for two players, who each use a special controller that has sixteen buttons, plus a joystick. As also previous reported, it will make it's debut at the Venus Patrol/Wild Rumpus party, which has been long sold out. So GDC attendees who couldn't get in will have to wait till the Experimental Gameplay Sessions, which traditionally closes out the conference.
What if you can't go to either? No worries, because the game may eventually make its way elsewhere. Again, according to Boyer:
"Stay tuned for news about release to the wider world: we’re already thinking about how we can bring the game to your home, even granted its poly-button insanity — we’ll have more about that in the future both here and at the official Tenya Wanya Teens website & twitter account."
