Fuse Infographic Introduces Naya

March 14, 2013 by Jordan Erica Webber

An ex-assassin with daddy issues.

As part of the build-up to the release of Fuse, Insomniac Games has been publishing comical infographics that provide a few details (some more useful than others) for each of the four playable characters. Since the game is clearly designed to be played cooperatively – though single player is an option – it's interesting to look at the differences between the four and see how those differences enable them to work as a team. The last of these infographics is for Naya, an ex-assassin.

According to the totally scientific analysis of the genetic similarities between Naya and her father, she has all the same traits minus the “swanky goatee”: combat prowess, subversiveness, intelligence, and a “soothing accent”. But despite their similarities, the two don't seem to have a particularly positive relationship, as we glimpsed in the character trailer for Naya. According to the “father factoids” section, taking part in Take Your Daughter to Work Day led to a need for therapy, which I guess is to be expected if her father is/was an assassin too.

As for the rest of the characters, most of the infographic is dedicated to an analysis of Naya's Fuse weapon, in her case the Warp Rifle. This gun is apparently unstable and can overheat, but has a high firing rate and a particularly cool effect. Similarly to the “Singularity” power in the Mass Effect series, it seems Naya can use the weapon to produce black holes that consume her enemies. This apparently works well after Jacob has used his Fuse weapon – the Arcshot – to stun multiple enemies.

Will you get Fuse when it launches for PS3 and 360 on April 30? If so, who will you choose: the reluctant leader Dalton, the hacker Izzy, the morally conflicted ex-cop Jacob, or Little Miss Daddy Issues here?
