Far Cry 3 Update Adds New Difficulty Mode, Outpost Resets

March 6, 2013 by Ian Miles Cheong

The latest patch for Far Cry 3 adds the ability to reset outposts and experience the game fresh.

Ubisoft has been hard at work in bringing to the fans what they want from Far Cry 3. Whereas the previous updates mostly served to add fixes to the existing game, the latest patch—available today—will add a host of new features highly requested by players on both its single-player and multiplayer modes. We wrote about the details of the patch when it was first announced last month.

The patch has just gone live on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and allows players to reset outposts, and play with a new "Master" difficulty setting that makes the game that much harder to beat. Additionally, the patch also adds new HUD settings to allow players to toggle most on-screen information off or on in the settings.

The updates should give players a reason to return to the Rook Islands and experience Far Cry 3 once more.

Likewise, the game's multiplayer mode has been given no small amount of improvements that allows players to test the maps they create as a "beta test" before launching it to the public. Maps can also be searched by author now, and players can now vote to skip maps they don't want to play.

To download the patch, simply log onto Steam, PSN or Xbox Live and have the game update itself.
